The Russian President Vladimir Putin said that his close contacts with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had led to a significant increase in the bilateral trade turnover. It is reported by the Russian State News Agency RIA Novosti.

"Our efforts are not unsuccessful. The trade turnover is growing: it grew by 24% last year and in the first five months of this year — by 26%," the Russian leader said.

Earlier, the Assistant to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov said that Putin planned to visit India in October.

Also, it was reported in the newspaper Izvestia with reference to the press release of the Roscongress Fund that a delegation from India would participate in the Eastern Economic Forum, which would be held in Vladivostok in September.
