Indian authorities are transferring the country to natural gas
India seeks to double the share of natural gas in the country's energy balance to 15% by 2030, while reducing emissions by one third. The country in which, according to the World Bank, in 2016, there were 14 of the 30 most polluted cities in the world, is now building gas pipelines and new facilities, stimulating an increase in the use of this type of fuel.
According to the Hindustan Times, the country's authorities plan that by 2020, 10 million homes will be connected to gas networks, with the result that cities will be free from smog. Gas can be used by half of its 1,3 billion people. Investments in the construction of a gas network of 12,5 thousand km in length will amount to 10 billion dollars.
Another advantage of gasification will be the expansion of production plants for the manufacture of pipes.
According to the publication, the beneficiaries of the program will be small enterprises like Maharashtra Seamless Ltd., Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Ltd., Jindal Saw and Man Industries India Ltd.
«We are optimistic about pipe producers, as there is a significant increase in demand, as well as an improvement in the overall work with tenders of state oil and gas companies, which significantly contributes to the economic development of enterprises. With the increase in oil prices, we expect a sharp increase of investments in exploration and production, and an increase in demand for seamless pipes», - said a senior analyst at Indianivesh Securities Ltd. Saurabh Kapadia.
