TV BRICS is an information partner of "The Energy of the Silk Road - Cooperation and Cultural Exchange on the Silk Road Among the Young People of the XXI Century"
On September 5 to 7, 2018б "The Energy of the Silk Road - Cooperation and Cultural Exchange on the Silk Road Among the Young People of the XXI Century" international event took place on the campus of Nazarbayev University.
The event was organized by the China Intercontinental Communication Center in conjunction with domestic and foreign agencies in honor of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative’s five-year anniversary, and is aimed at the young people of the countries in Central Asia. The goal is to demonstrate modern and energetic China, create a platform for effective communication and cultural exchange among the young people of the countries in Central Asia, promote young people’s international communication, their deep understanding of the “One-Belt, One Road” initiative, as well as establish the basis for amicable cooperation.
The event includes four main sections: "The Energy of the Silk Road - Cooperation and Cultural Exchange on the Silk Road Among the Young People of the XXI Century” conference, "The Silk Road, Full of Vitality – Cooperation Among Young People" round table, where the Nazarbayev University students, as well as the students invited from the Renmin University of China, the Beijing Normal University, the Communication University of China, and the Beijing Foreign Studies University took part; the opening ceremony of the "Image of the Silk Road" exhibition, the demonstration of films about China to the students of the Nazarbayev University, and the "Image of the Silk Road" exhibition.
On September 5, in the Senate Hall of the Nazarbayev University, among the speakers at "The Energy of the Silk Road - Cooperation and Cultural Exchange on the Silk Road Among the Young People of the XXI Century" conference were Professor Ilesanmi Adesida, the Provost at Nazarbayev University, Professor Daniel Pew, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nazarbayev University, Mr. Jiao Huai-xin, a representative of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Daniyar Sundetbaev, the Chairman of Zhas Otan, the youth organization of the Nur Otan Party, Shaymergenova Gulnar Ashenovna, the Head of the Center for the Study of China, Victoria Hu, the co-founder of the SCO Youth Council, and others.
Through this event, the China Intercontinental Communication Center is hoping to create an all-encompassing cultural communication platform for the youth of Central Asia and the SCO countries. Also, through the "One belt, One Road" initiative, it is expecting to promote cultural communication among the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries, as well as to expand their cooperation.
In a solemn atmosphere, Mr. Chen Luqun, the Director of the China Intercontinental Communication Center, presented books and documentary programs to the library of Nazarbayev University and to the Center for the Study of China. Those materials will help Kazakhstani students to learn more about China and about the development of the media in China.
