VEB and the New Development Bank of BRICS have agreed to study the blockchain technology together
The agreement provides for a joint study of the use of such technologies in the interests of each of the parties.
Vnesheconombank and the New Development Bank of the BRICS countries have signed a Memorandum on joint study of the prospects for the use of distributed registry (blockchain) technologies in the framework of the digital economy development. VEB press service reports.
VEB Press Service reports that the signing took place within the framework of the BRICS International Summit in Johannesburg.
"This joint work opens up new opportunities for Russian exporters, operators of major infrastructure projects, borrowers. The current agreement will allow the BRICS development banks to intensify the development of innovative technologies. They can be used to create and optimize banking and financial products," said the First Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank - Board Member, Mikhail Poluboyarinov, whose words are quoted by the VEB Press Service.
In addition to Vnesheconombank, the document was signed by the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), the Export-Import Bank of India, the State Development Bank of China, and the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA). The Memorandum provides for a joint study of the use of distributed registry technologies for the benefit of each party.
