Vladimir Putin addressed the plenary session of the EEF
On 7 September, Vladimir Putin made a speech at the Eastern Economic Forum.
The theme of the 2022 Eastern Economic Forum is "Towards a multipolar world".
During his speech, Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of the further development of the Far East region.
"As a result, the share of Asian economies in global GDP will grow. And it will grow from 37.1% in 2015 to 45% in 2027, and this trend will surely continue from here."Vladimir Putin Russian President
"For Russia, it is important that, along with the economies of the Asia-Pacific Region, the economy of our country's Far East should grow, so that this region has modern living conditions for people, their incomes and well-being should grow, and high-quality jobs and efficient production should be created," Putin said.
The President also spoke about the results achieved in industrial production: "Over the past seven years, industrial production in the Far East has increased by around a quarter. In other words, the growth rate of industrial production in the Far East has surpassed, steadily surpassed, the growth rate of industrial production in the country as a whole."
The Russian leader said that it was necessary to continue developing the aviation and transport sectors in the country and to improve the condition of settlements in the Far East. He recalled that at the St Petersburg Forum he gave instructions to allocate an additional 10 billion roubles a year for the improvement of Russian cities.
The plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum will also feature addresses by Min Aung Hlaing, Prime Minister of the Provisional Government, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Myanmar; Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia; Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene, Prime Minister of Mongolia; and Li Zhanshu, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China.
Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of Malaysia Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh will deliver video messages.
