A dialogue session organised by the Indian Business Alliance was held in Moscow
The strategic partnership between India and Russia is developing in a wide range of sectors, from economy to culture. There is huge potential for cooperation between the two countries. This was revealed by Devendra Fadnavis, deputy chief minister of the Indian state of Maharashtra. He met in Moscow with representatives of the diaspora as well as the business community of the two states.
"Relations between Russia and India mean a lot. I am sure that pretty soon we will see a prosperous India and this will be our common future with Russia," Devendra Fadnavis said.
Rahul Narvekar, speaker of the Maharashtra state legislature, also attended the meeting. It began with the traditional custom of lighting the lamp.
The guests discussed business support, the development of the most promising sectors and the establishment of new industries.
To negotiate directly with foreign companies, to find partners to enter new markets - such meetings offer a variety of opportunities for large and medium-sized businesses alike.
"The Indian market is a large export and import market, and cooperation with the Indian business alliance is vital for both Russian and Indian companies," said Karina Dzhumaeva, a participant in the meeting.
"It is remarkable that Russian-Indian cooperation is actively developing, including at the regional and state levels. The state of Maharashtra is indeed a driver that India has, which should be actively used," said Zlata Antusheva of the Moscow government's Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations.
The organisers prepared not only a business programme. Guests learned about Indian music and traditional dances, and were able to sample dishes from the national cuisine. The meeting attracted several dozen participants and was hosted by the Indian Business Alliance association.
