According to young Indians, BRICS is the most promising association
Indians aged 18-35 consider the BRICS association (including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) to be the most promising for the country compared to the others the republic belongs to. This is according to a survey by the Delhi-based Observer Research Foundation.
26% of respondents believe the BRICS is the most beneficial platform for India to achieve global goals. The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), of which Russia, China and a number of Central Asian states are members, was chosen by 6% of respondents.
In addition, more than 40% of India's youth have named Russia as India's most reliable partner in the 75 years of independence since 1947. "Respondents ranked Russia as India's most reliable partner since independence (about 43%)," the survey said.
When asked which countries would be India's leading partners in the next 10 years, the majority of young Indians surveyed answered, with 76% naming Russia. This is reported by TASS.
"Support for Russia was highest among civil servants: 66% of them ranked Russia as India's most reliable partner," the text states.
In early November, the study surveyed about 5,000 young men and women across the country with varying levels of education and income, the authors of the document say.
