Addis Ababa University official: Education reform is a great support to Ethiopia's transformation process

The representative of Addis Ababa University administration, Samuel Kifle, said that the ongoing education reform in the country in general and higher education in particular will greatly support Ethiopia's transformation process. In an interview with ENA, he emphasised that Ethiopia has been actively expanding higher education over the past decades. He noted that the country needs to make sure that higher education institutions are well orientated and reforms are needed for this.

Addis Ababa University, as the country's first autonomous university, will be able to focus on its mission and successfully deliver education, conduct cutting-edge research and engage with society to transform it.

According to Samuel, institutional transformation is a long-term process and Addis Ababa University will set its own standards and serve as a model for other universities in Ethiopia.

Samuel emphasised that education reform will greatly support Ethiopia's transformation process and make Ethiopia an example of prosperity for the whole continent.
