African Energy Week 2024 to bring together African and global energy officials

Five-day programme will drive Africa’s energy future

The African Energy Week 2024 has officially launched its five-day programme, which will take place from 4 to 8 November 2024. The programme, set to be the ultimate gathering for Africa’s energy sector, will feature seven stages, five content stages, two technical hubs, and a full day of pre-event workshops, providing a platform for industry leaders and stakeholders.

One of the key highlights of the week will be the Energy Finance Summit, where discussions will focus on securing long-term financing for upstream oil and gas projects amid the global energy transition. The summit will explore policy reforms and market strategies that support renewable energy development and infrastructure financing, ensuring the sector remains competitive and viable.

Investors will gain access to exclusive insights and technical presentations from African petroleum ministries and regulators, offering a deep dive into current and upcoming oil and gas licensing rounds. These sessions aim to attract a broader range of companies to engage in new contracts and drive exploratory drilling across the continent.

The Intra-African Local Content session will address key issues of sustainable economic growth and job creation within the oil and gas industry. The session will bring together African and global energy leaders to discuss policies and frameworks that enhance the competitiveness of the African workforce, drawing on successful models from countries like Nigeria, Angola, and Ghana.

In addition to insightful sessions, African Energy Week 2024 will feature an interactive exhibition and networking event with exclusive investment opportunities across countries such as Nigeria, Namibia, Angola, and South Africa.

The Saudi-Africa Partnerships Roundtable will also be organised to explore Saudi Arabia's long-term plans for cooperation with the African energy sector.

African Energy Week (AEW) is the African Energy Chamber’s annual event, uniting African energy leaders, global investors, and executives from across the public and private sector for four days of intense dialogue on the future of the African energy industry.
