African International Congress to be held in Moscow

The African International Congress (AIC) will be held in Moscow on Wednesday 5 April 2023. The purpose of this forum is to create a permanent platform for a working dialogue of the business community which has business interests on the African continent, or is involved in the organisation of African trade and investment cooperation with Russia and other Eurasian countries.

The AIC will be a strategically important step towards creating the most favourable conditions for the development of trade and economic relations between Russia and Africa, and will help to build effective forms and directions of Russian-African cooperation.

The main topics include current priorities for Russian-African business cooperation, the investment climate in Africa, humanitarian cooperation as a driver of business development, and the creation of a unified African educational system and African International University.

The event will be attended by the heads of diplomatic missions and trade representatives of African states, representatives of the authorities of the Russian Federation, the heads of business associations of the African continent, representatives of business circles of Russia, African and international business, scientists, artists and sportsmen.

The congress is organised by an organising committee consisting of representatives of the political elite, the business communities of African countries and the Russian business community. The event is actively supported by graduates of Russian universities from African countries.

Rector of the Eurasian International University and Co-Chairman of the Congress Konstantin Klimenko said: "The difference of our congress from similar events is that a weighty package of agreements in trade, economic and investment spheres will be signed following the results of the forum. Agreements will also be signed in culture, sports, education and charity".

It is planned that the congress will be held annually in the form of a large forum. It will be held alternately in Moscow and in one of the African countries. At the same time club sessions will be held quarterly in different countries on highly specialised topics.

The Afronews internet portal and the Afroinfo electronic encyclopaedia will operate on a permanent basis. The Afronews internet portal will be a permanent feature of African business news, while the encyclopaedia will provide background information on all significant African business companies.
