"African Way" - a conference on investment cooperation to be held in Moscow
On 1 February 2023, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host the "African Way" conference, dedicated to the entry of private investors and Russian companies into the African market. The event will be held in a hybrid format.
This is the first conference in Russia dedicated to investment cooperation, hosted by businessmen with experience on the African continent. They will share their knowledge and discuss the development of partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organisations working in various fields of Russian-African economic cooperation.
Entrepreneurs and investors from Russia and African countries (South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya) are scheduled to attend the conference. In addition, African ambassadors have been invited, as well as representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Export Centre (REC), Eurasian Investment Agency (EIA), AFROCOM International Foundation and Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
Key objectives of the "African Way" conference:
- to acquaint entrepreneurs with the conditions of doing business in African countries;
- present promising private investment projects on the African continent;
- discuss support measures for Russian companies: sources of finance and insurance;
- formulate proposals for the Russian authorities to improve laws and regulations governing and supporting Russian investment in Africa.
Scheduled events include a presentation of the Russian-African Investment Alliance, which is open to all interested investors and representatives of regional, federal and international business organisations.
Invited experts will speak at the plenary session. An open discussion will follow and the event will conclude with a pitch session of investment projects and proposals.
