Algeria is interested in joining the BRICS countries
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said the country is interested in joining the BRICS alliance, as reported by TASS citing the agency Algeria Press Service.
The Algerian leader stressed that the republic has all the conditions for becoming a part of the association. He added that the country is really interested in joining. In addition, Tebboune mentioned that joining the BRICS would allow Algeria to avoid getting involved in "bipolar conflicts".
In June this year, Argentina and Iran applied to join BRICS. Later, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey announced a similar intention. A decision on some countries may be taken at the next summit of the association. Current members of BRICS include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
