Applications for InteRussia internships extended until 26 February

Participants will have an opportunity to work under the supervision of leading MGIMO scholars

The deadline to apply International Relations Internship Program has been extended until 26 February, according to the Gorchakov Fund website. The internship programme is organised by MGIMO University in partnership with the Gorchakov Fund and Rossotrudnichestvo.

InteRussia provides an opportunity for foreign experts in the fields of history and theory of international relations, political science and regional studies to learn about the Russian scientific and expert agenda, visit public bodies, participate in expert sessions hosted by universities, think tanks and non-governmental organisations.

The unique feature of the programme is that the selected participants will get the opportunity to work under the academic guidance of leading MGIMO scholars.

The mission of InteRussia is to expand and deepen scientific, social and cultural ties between Russia and foreign countries and to create a basis for fruitful academic dialogue between young scholars from around the world.

The second aim of an internship is to gain the necessary experience. The students may not earn anything, but most importantly is that they will gain experience which will be very useful in their future careers.

The spring Internship will be conducted in English and will take place at MGIMO (Moscow, Russia) from 20 March to 30 April.

The spring Internship framework topic is "Rising Powers in World Politics".

Deadline for applications is on 26 February, 23:59 Moscow time. The results of the competition will be informed by email.

The result of the internship will be an original research project of 15-25,000 characters (including spaces) based on an individual research proposal (in English) prepared by the candidate.

To be considered for the competition, applicants must meet the following requirements by the deadline:

- foreign nationality;

- age 25-35

- residence outside Russia;

- professional knowledge of English (at least level C1);

- submission of an individual research plan on the chosen topic according to the requirements of the application;

- absence of any employment/previous enrollment in academic programs/other relations with the MGIMO University;

- availability of an academic/doctoral degree or a current postgraduate degree.

The selection of applicants for the internship will be based on the results of the competition. The competition criteria include:

- scientific significance, relevance, soundness and feasibility of the research plan;

- scientific publications;

- letters of recommendation;

- other scientific and expert activities of the applicant (participation in conferences, grants awarded, academic internships, expert publications, comments in the media);

- online interview.

To take part in the programme, a special form needs to be filled in.
