Archaeologists uncover finds in Russia

Archaeologists in the village of Beryozovo, which is located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, discovered a structure during excavations.

Specialists excavated an area of more than 120 square metres. An interesting find was the moat. The artificial construction turned out to be at a depth of 2 metres, its width is more than 3 metres, and the walls are reinforced with timbers. Presumably, it dates back to 1607. This is reported by District broadcaster "Ugra", a partner of TV BRICS.

In addition, archaeologists found about 1.5 thousand different artefacts: fragments of pottery, Chinese porcelain, jewellery, nails, dishes and coins. 

The work has been going on there for about a month. This is a continuation of the excavations, which were conducted from 2007 to 2010. 

Then the remains of the so-called early Kremlin were discovered here, and layers above the later construction, the Spasskaya Tower.
