Augmented Reality Glasses Have Been Tested on Russian Cows
Augmented reality glasses were put on cows on a farm in the Moscow Region. It is expected that with their help animals will be able to relax and feel happier. Therefore, it should affect the quality and amount of milk, reports the tvbrics.com correspondent with a reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.
The experiment was masterminded by the staff of one of the largest agricultural enterprises of the Moscow Region together with IT specialists. Human VR glasses were adapted for cows, considering the structure of their heads.
The virtual reality shows an imitated summer field to animals. The designers took into account how cows see various colors: they differentiate red shades better, and green and blue tones worse.
"During the first test, experts recorded decrease in stress level and enhancement in the general emotional disposition of a herd", the press service of the Ministry reports. Further, they are going to study the influence of virtual reality on livestock yield.
If VR glasses prove their efficiency, developers intend to expand the project and modernize the domestic sphere of dairy production.
According to various researches, the emotional condition of animals affects quality and amount of milk. To create a comfortable environment for cows, American farmers sometimes establish automatically rotating brushes in stalls, working as massage therapists for animals.
In Europe, they use robotic systems for the optimal movement of the cattle on a farm. And Russian cows listen to relaxing classical music.
