Brazil achieves lowest unemployment rate since 2015
Brazil's unemployment rate fell to 9.3% in the latest quarter, down 1.8% from the previous quarter and to its lowest level since 2015, as reported on the official website of the Brazilian government.
The number of unemployed fell by 15.6% compared to the January-March 2022 period.
Brazil's employed population increased by 3.1% and is estimated at 98.3 million, the highest level in a decade. Around 3 million people entered the labour market between April and June 2022. Over the year, the number of new workers in Brazil increased by 8.9 million.
