Brazil approves decree to reduce the amount of biodiesel in diesel fuel
President Jair Bolsonaro approved the CNPE (National Council for Energy Policy) resolution that authorizes biodiesel reduction in fossil diesel fuel from 13% to 10%. The document with the new rule was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Monday, the 13th of September. As Poder360 reports.
The government statd that CNPE considers it appropriate to reduce the biodiesel content during the 82nd biodiesel auction in order to avoid excessive increase of diesel final price for the consumer.
“This measure is a result of an increase in the cost of soybean oil in the Brazilian and international markets, combined with the depreciation of the Brazilian currency against the dollar, which increases soybean exports, as well as the cost of biodiesel produced at the national level,” the Brazilian government stated.
