Brazil expands access to rehabilitation for people with special needs
Brazil's Ministry of Health has announced a plan to increase access to rehabilitation for people with disabilities. This is reported by Toda Palavra, a partner of TV BRICS.
The plan will include the opening of 15 new rehabilitation and care centres for people with disabilities, which will be located in 13 municipalities across the country.
There will also be a 20 per cent transfer increase to eight existing centres specialising in serving people with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
The Ministry of Health will also take measures to adapt medical transport to carry people with disabilities to the centres.
More than US$8.9 million will be allocated for all these measures.
Increasing access to rehabilitation is an important step to improve the lives of people with disabilities in Brazil.
