Brazil notes the country's growing popularity as tourist destination
Brazil's Ministry of Tourism announced that foreign tourists brought R$30.821 billion (US$5.1 billion) to the Brazilian economy in 2024.
This figure refers to the first nine months of the year and represents the best result in the last ten years. This is reported by TV Cultura, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to Brazil's Central Bank, international tourists brought the country more than R$3 billion (US$518 million) in September alone.
"We are seeing a growing interest from foreigners to discover the beauties of Brazil. This shows that we have a very valuable economic market to work with through measures and public policies that promote our tourist attractions abroad," Brazilian Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino said in a statement.
Some 4.9 million guests from abroad visited the national destinations between January and September.
