Brazil resumes in-flight services on domestic flights
On Sunday, 22 May, the airlines operating domestic flights in Brazil - Blue, Gol and Latam - returned to onboard service - passengers will once again be offered snacks and drinks on request, at no extra charge, after two years of suspending service due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, Blue said it had resumed the service from Sunday, with Gol Airlines announcing it would return to offering the convenience gradually. For its customers, the in-flight service will be available first on flights from Congonhas (CGH) and Guarulhos (GRU) airports to São Paulo. And on 1 June, the service will be extended to flights from Rio de Janeiro (GIG/SDU). In the case of Latam, provision of in-flight meals will begin on 1 June.
The resumption of services on board was made possible following a decision by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) at its last meeting. According to the agency's definition, the return of in-flight service, the removal of the mask only for feeding and the return of the maximum passenger capacity in transport are allowed. Rede TV!, a partner of the TV BRICS network, writes about this.
The mandatory use of masks in aircraft and inside airports remains unchanged, as does the need for cleaning and disinfecting procedures for the environment and surfaces. Whenever possible, it is advisable to maintain a social distance.
