Brazil's oil output from production sharing contracts aims to peak in 2030

Brazil continues to solidify its position as a major player in the global energy sector

Oil production under Brazil’s production-sharing agreements is projected to reach its zenith at 2.145 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2030, up from an estimated 1.268 million bpd in 2025. This is reported by Agencia CMA, a partner of TV BRICS.

According to the source, these contracts could generate over US$83.15 billion in revenue for the federal government from the sale of oil and gas shares in 19 contracts over the next decade. Factoring in royalties and taxes, total public revenue is projected to exceed US$166.3 billion during this period.

Natural gas production under is also expected to rise dramatically, with daily production increasing from 255,000 cubic metres today to a peak of 3.3 million cubic metres in 2031.

In addition to economic gains, the source emphasised Brazil’s environmental performance, noting that carbon emissions intensity from these contracts remains significantly below global averages.
