Brazil submits official bid to host Women's World Cup in 2027
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, together with Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), officially declared the country a candidate to host the 2027 Women's World Cup.
"It will be a motivating event, awakening the Brazilian people to the idea that women can do whatever they want," stressed Lula in his speech.
The gala event took place on Thursday, 30 March, at Palacio do Planalto, where the president, along with Sports Minister Ana Moser, accepted the trophy, the Women's World Cup 2023.
The politician's public participation in the event was the first since he was diagnosed with mild pneumonia, which forced him to postpone his trip to China, scheduled for last Saturday, 25 March, as reported by TV CULTURA, a partner of TV BRICS.
