Brazilian animated film by Guilherme Gehrto be premiered on Moja Media
On June 18th, Moja Media Group (TV BRICS international network media partner in South Africa) will show the Brazilian animated film "Plantae" for the first time. The premiere will take place in the framework of a special TV BRICS broadcast block, regularly aired on Moja Media channel in South Africa. The animated film from Brazil will be shown in 30 countries in Africavia StarSat satellite (Ch. 509).
The film "Plantae" (2017), directed by Guilherme Gehr, tells about the environmental problem. It gives a view upon the irreversible consequences of deforestation and subjugation by humans to the rest of Earth’s beings.
Guilherme was born in 1987, in Joinville, South of Brazil. He got a bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Video at the Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina. At the university, he did a lot of work in Painting, Drawing and, mainly, Set Design and Art Direction. He directed such short film projects as: “O Natal de Pedro” (Peter’s Christmas) and “O Homemna Caixa” (The Man in the Box). Since 2011, he has been working closely with Geology and Biology professionals, with small illustrative and animation projects to promote environmental education.
Plantae(2017), his latest film project, is entirely hand-drawn and carries a message of environmental preservation based on the deforestation of rain forests from the entire equatorial strip of the planet.
In February 2020 "Plantae" participated in the first Russian film screening of Brazilian animated films, which was held by the Brazilian cultural center in Moscow and Moskino with TV BRICS media support in February 2020. In May, the Russian premiere of the animated film took place on TV BRICS channel. You can watch the film on TV BRICS website in the section "BRICS Cinema".
Within the framework of the TV BRICS partner network, there is a multilateral information exchange between media companies of the BRICS countries. TV BRICS is the largest "hub" for the content exchange in the "ring" format: Russia-India-China-South Africa-Brazil – Russia. On a regular basis, there is an exchange of news footage with the main TV channel of Sao Paulo state (Brazil) TV CULTURA and Funtelpa Cultura Rede de Comunicação of Para state (Brazil), the African TV channel Moja Media and Durban TV (South Africa).
TV BRICS Russian viewers can watch TV and film content of Chinese production (Sanya Bright, Renmin Ribao ("People's daily"), CNC channel (Xinhua, China), Chengdu Radio and Television Stationas well as Indian short films of the Indo-Russian Cinema.
