Brazilian Highway Police have strengthened control on highways
The Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) have tightened control on the highways in the country in order to reduce the total number of accidents. Police inspections will be carried out on the roads, as there is an increase in the flow of vehicles due to the extension of the Feast Day of Our Lady Aparecida, the patroness of Brazil, as reported by RedeTV!, a TV BRICS’s partner.
According to PRF, a large "corresponding" flow of cars and passenger buses contributes to aggression in traffic, which leads to "an increase in the number of serious accidents, injuries and deaths" on federal highways.
PRF pay most attention to the alcohol content of drivers, overtaking and ignoring the vehicle safety equipment (seat belts and helmets). The results of this operation will be made public later.
