Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics team excels at Pan American Games
At the Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics team won gold in the group all-around for the second consecutive year. Duda Arakaki, Deborah Medrado, Nicole Pircio, Giovanna Oliveira and Barbara Galvan left the USA in 3rd place and Mexico in 2nd.
Another medal for Brazil on the last day of competition came from Giovanna Santos, the previous champion in the individual ribbon and club events - the gymnast won silver in the individual all-around as well as silver in the team event. This is reported on the official website of the Brazilian government.
These results secured Brazil the maximum number of places at the next World Championships in Sofia, the first pre-Olympic tournament.
