BRICS CCI holds a webinar on Fintech on October 22

Speakers from Singapore, Russia, South Africa, the UK will take part

BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold the virtual webinar on Central Banking System in the age of FinTech on October 22, 2021 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM IST.

FinTech is rapidly becoming a global phenomenon and encompasses innovative technology-enabled financial services and the business models that accompany those services. It presents unique opportunities for central banks. The rapid changes in technology that are transforming the financial system will allow central banks to enhance the execution of several of their core functions, such as currency issuance and payment systems.

The confirmed speakers for the session:

• Neha Mehta, Fintech Team Lead, ASEAN Economic Reform Programme, (Singapore)

• Boris Loguinov, Head of the World Economy Chair at the Diplomatic Academy of Russia (Russia)

• Seshree Govender (Senior Associate at Webber Wentzel) (South Africa)

• Chris Gledhill (Independent FinTech Advisor) (UK)

The main aim at BRICS CCI, under the Chairmanship of BRICS 2021 is to attempt to deliberate on how Fintech has potentially spured efficiency improvements, thereby reducing costs and upsurging competition, to analyze potential risks to financial stability, including central banks and regulators.
