BRICS International Bank to Allocate money for Volga Purification

Cheboksary will get 4 billion rubles for clear water.


The capital of Chuvashia will get 4 billion rubles from the BRICS New Development Bank for the modernization of water supply and water disposalsystems, the portal moygorodonline.rureports, with the reference to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Chuvashia.In total, it is planned to implement 10 projects with the use of these funds.

Cheboksary has planned to spend this money on several projects, such as development of water supply infrastructure and water purification of the Volga River, reconstruction of a country collector, construction of an outlet sewer of the Kaybulka river and its inflows. It has been noted that the Republic and the city co-finance the projects for a minimum of 10% of the allocated funds.

Alexey Ladykov, the Head of Administration of Cheboksary: 'The project’s purpose is to increase the quality and reliability of water supply and water disposal servicesfor the citizens, to improve the ecological condition of the national property heritage, i.e. the Volga River. With the assistance of the Government of the Republic and the New Development Bank, Cheboksary will be able to make it.'

4 more cities will also get financing: Ivanovo, Dzerzhinsk, Rybinsk, Volzhsky. The loan will be repaid at the expense of the federal budget within 20 years. In total, 300 million US dollars will be given to these cities.
