BRICS leaders adopt XII Summit Moscow Declaration
On Tuesday, November 17, the XII BRICS Summit under the slogan “BRICS Partnership for Global Stability, Shared Security and Innovative Growth” chaired by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was held via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PRC President Xi Jinping and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The heads of BRICS countries and governments exchanged views on the five-sided cooperation and its prospects and summed up the results of this year’s Russian chairmanship of BRICS. The leaders focused on urgent issues of the international agenda and coordinated their positions concerning the upcoming G20 Summit to be held on November 21-22.
Following the Summit, the participants adopted Moscow Declaration, which reflects the consolidated approaches of the five countries to the further development of the association, as well as the Strategy for BRICS Economic Partnership 2025 and the BRICS Counter-Terror Strategy.
