BRICS+ Media Centre in Moscow to show cartoons of group’s countries to celebrate New Year
The BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Centre in Moscow will host New Year screenings of animated films by directors of the BRICS countries. The event is organised by TV BRICS for families with children.
“Screenings of foreign animated films for children are a new area of work of the BRICS+ Media Centre, which was opened in the year of Russia's presidency in the BRICS association. Throughout 2025, we will introduce Russians to the best examples of foreign animation art provided by partners of TV BRICS. Children and their parents will be able to watch cult films that are popular in their home countries, as well as works by emerging directors. I would like to point out that most of the films have never been shown in Russia before,” said Oksana Serpak, press secretary of the TV BRICS International Media Network.
The programme of the first family shows includes cartoons from Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa, country lectures for children, and entertaining contests. Paulo Lima, director of the Brazilian cartoon “Spark”, expressed confidence that the event will attract the attention of Russian viewers and demonstrate the success of the BRICS countries in animation.
The screenings will take place on 27 December 2024 and 13 January 2025. They can be attended by everyone who wishes to attend: pre-registration is required. The shows will start at 16:00.
The BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Centre, established by the Library for Foreign Literature and the TV BRICS International Media Network in October 2024 on the eve of the XVI BRICS Summit, is aimed at developing and strengthening humanitarian cooperation between different countries, promoting culture, science and education.
