BRICS Summit participants highlighted the need to preserve the memory of the events of the Second World War
“We recognize the Victory in the Second World War as our common legacy and pay tribute to all those who fought against fascism, tyranny and militarism, colonialism and for liberation of the colonized, for freedom of nations.”- XII BRICS Summit Moscow Declaration.
Particular attention in the work of the TV BRICS Network as a common media for the five countries is paid to the importance of preserving the memory of the events of the Second World War in all countries. On the 75th anniversary of the end of the war, TV BRICS produced a documentary Unknown Stalingrad telling the stories of the veterans from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Each country made its own contribution to the victory in World War II, but today it is undeservedly forgotten. The film Unknown Stalingrad tells stories about courage, losses and struggle of real people. This is a story in which five countries fight together. The film has drawn a response from the viewers living in the BRICS countries, it has been shown by the largest channels and on the digital platforms of the Network's partners in BRICS countries.
TV BRICS Network, in partnership with Rossotrudnichestvo, held a series of events aimed at preserving the memory of the Second World War, including the "home" concert-marathon "75 Songs for the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War", online concert "Not Those Who Died but Those Who Live Will Need It" of the Leningrad Region "Tavrichesky" Symphony Orchestra, online contest of poems and songs dedicated to the Great Victory in India - Victory with the Poetry, in which Indian citizens sang songs in Russian.
