BRICS Working Group on Agriculture holds inaugural meeting via videoconference

The Inaugural Meeting of the BRICS Working Group on Agriculture took place in early March 2024. It was held in the format of a videoconference.

Following the meeting, the participants expressed confidence in continuing to strengthen cooperation in the field of agriculture within the alliance to effectively address the challenges of global food security.

"As one of the largest participants in the global agricultural market, the Russian Federation intends to make the necessary efforts to develop and maintain the stability of international trade in order to ensure global food security", emphasised Maxim Markovich, Director of the Department for International Cooperation and Agricultural Export Development of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

He spoke about the priorities of the Russian BRICS Chairmanship in the agricultural sector and presented the plan of events for the year.

The Roscongress Foundation is the operator of the events of Russia's BRICS Chairmanship.
