Car production in Brazil grows by 15.1% in November
In November, Brazil registered an increase of 15.1% in car production (206 thousand units), compared with October (179 thousand units). However, compared to November 2020, there was a decrease of 13.5%, according to the data obtained from the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), as reported by Rede TV!, a partner of TV BRICS.
Last month, 173 thousand cars were produced, which is 23.1% less than in November 2020. According to Anfavea, this was the worst figure for November in 16 years. Compared to October, licensing increased by 6.5%.
The structure highlighted an unprecedented supply crisis caused by a global semiconductor shortage. “Even with a modest 6.5% improvement in sales over October, the results were nowhere near as strong for a historically profitable month,” Anfavea stated.
Export deliveries were below expectations: 28 thousand units were shipped in November, which is 6% less than in the previous month. Compared to November 2020, the drop was 36.3%.
