Chile records more than 5 million foreign visitors in 2024

More than 2 million travellers from Argentina and 787,000 Brazilians visited the southern country

In 2024, Chile welcomed more than 5.2 million foreign travellers, an increase of 40.4 per cent compared to the previous year. According to the Undersecretary of Tourism, Veronica Pardo, December was the month with the highest flow of visitors, with more than 647,000 arrivals.

This success reflects the coordinated efforts between the public and private sectors to position Chile as an attractive, safe and sustainable destination on the world stage.

Argentina led the list of countries with more than 2 million travellers, Brazil was in second place with 787,000 visitors, representing a growth of 62 per cent, according to Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

Other key markets, such as Colombia, Uruguay, and Mexico, also showed significant increases, consolidating Chile as a diverse and dynamic international hotspot.

This record tourist influx reaffirms Chile's relevance as one of the top destinations in Latin America, boosting its local economy and strengthening its prestige in the global tourism market.
