China celebrates the Mooncake Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday. The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunisolar calendar with a full moon at night, corresponding to mid-September to early October of the Gregorian calendar. This year the holiday will be celebrated on September 10th.
This festival meant only for family reunion and there is a special delicacy for this special day – Mooncakes. A mooncake resembles the moon. Circle is a sign of completeness and happiness. Cirle simbolizes that families are going to be together and forever and in a round mooncake all these beautiful hopes are reposed.
