China is ready to finance the development of Novosibirsk scientists

One of the most economically developed regions of China – Guangdong province – counts on a long-term cooperation with scientists of Novosibirsk Akademgorodok. This was stated at the investment forum "Asian Meetings", which takes place in Novosibirsk.

Yang Duen, a representative of the Guangdong Union for Scientific and Technical Cooperation with the CIS countries, said on the sidelines of the forum that the province authorities, which ranks first in terms of gross domestic product among the regions of China, are ready to invest in research institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to Yang Duen, the main resource of Novosibirsk is its intellectual potential, and the Chinese side is interested in developing contacts in the field of scientific research. First of all, the Chinese delegation is interested in research in the fields of biology, medicine, new materials, IT and energy saving.

"Achievements of science and technology in Novosibirsk are a great treasure. And we hope very much that these technologies and equipment will help in the development of enterprises in Guangdong," said Mr. Yang Duen.

The Guangdong Union for Scientific and Technical Cooperation with the CIS countries invited scientists from Novosibirsk to come to China for three months each year to work on joint projects as part of a possible cooperation program.

"Our government grants a very good allowance. In addition, enterprises will pay a good salary for their work," the representative of the Union said.

In addition to cooperation in the scientific sphere, the province is interested in the development of bilateral relations in the field of education and tourism.

Innovation and investment forum is held annually to create a favorable investment climate, to support innovation, to increase interest in the economic potential of Siberia.

For the second year, it is called "Asian Meetings". Its organizers are the Department of Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Novosibirsk City Hall, the Russian Association for International Cooperation (Moscow) and the Siberian Association for International Cooperation (Novosibirsk).
