China launches fourth batch of satellites for expanding Internet constellation

China has successfully launched a new batch of low Earth orbit satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre, located in Shanxi Province in the north of the country. This is reported by Global Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

The satellite group, which forms part of an ambitious Internet constellation project, is the fourth set to be deployed as part of this initiative. The launch occurred precisely at 4:45 a.m. Beijing Time, using a modified version of the Long March-6 carrier rocket. All satellites were successfully delivered into their designated orbit.

This latest launch represents the 580th mission in the Long March rocket series, underlining the extensive use and reliability of China’s primary launch vehicle family. The Long March rockets have become a cornerstone of China’s space programme, facilitating both domestic and international missions.

The successful deployment adds to China’s growing satellite network aimed at improving global Internet coverage and enhancing communications infrastructure.
