China's Permanent Representative to UN outlines key achievements of country's work with UN
China's permanent representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, spoke about his country's diplomatic engagement with the United Nations over the past year.
The UN should take into account the views of all its members. This was the suggestion made by China's permanent representative to the UN.
"I think the UN should focus on three aspects - building a common future, preserving common security and promoting common development. Within this framework, all countries should unite and cooperate to jointly face challenges and build a better future for humanity," said Zhang Jun.
Speaking about the UN's 2030 sustainable development agenda, Zhang Jun said it was given new impulse by the development initiatives put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"The UN cannot play a greater role in international affairs without China's support and contribution. The PRC, as a force for peace and development, will certainly be able to make a significant contribution to security in the new year," said the Chinese permanent representative to the UN.
According to the diplomat, China will continue to promote economic cooperation with other countries. This will allow China to contribute to global development and get additional impetus to strengthen its own economy, as reported by CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.
