China Will Launch the "Artificial Sun" in 2020
Next year, China is going to complete the construction of a new nuclear fusion reactor – the so-called Artificial Sun, reports the tvbrics.com correspondent with a reference to Xinhua.
The device will reproduce the natural nuclear reactions happening in the sun. That is how Chinese scientists try to find a method of obtaining unlimited clean energy.
The Artificial Sun will generate hot plasma, its temperature will exceed 200 million degrees Celsius. The fusion reactor will use hydrogen and deuterium as a fuel.
Chinese scientists have been working on the Artificial Sun since 2006. What is more, the People's Republic of China participates in a project on creation of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor ITER in Southern France.
