Chinese Scientists Found the «Weak» Point in Coronavirus
Researchers from the Sun Yat-sen University have found out that coronavirus COVID-19 is influenced by season and temperature, reports a tvbrics.com correspondent with the reference to South China Morning Post.
Researchers made a number of experiments which confirm that the new type of coronavirus is very sensitive to high temperatures. And the ideal temperature for coronavirus spread is 8.72 degrees Celsius.
The theory was confirmed by climatic statistics. Researchers analysed meteorological reports as of January 2020 in China and some other countries.
As a result, they found out that the maximum indicators of infection were reached at a temperature of +8.72 degrees, and when temperature increased, they began to decrease gradually.
Despite the conclusions, scientists do not hurry to promise that the coronavirus will disappear in the summer. Warm and damp weather can really make the virus less stable and, respectively, less infectious, but without vaccine and other measures, it will not leave completely, specialists think.
American colleagues of the Chinese scientists have also found out that the typical incubation interval for the new COVID-19 lasts 5 days. But in 1% of cases, symptoms are revealed two weeks after infection — that is how long the quarantine lasts.
