Consumption of Natural Gas Has Grown in China

In 2018, consumption of natural gas in China increasedconsiderably, owing to the country’s pollution control.

According to the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China, last year the consumption of natural gas grew by 18.1 percent, up to to 280.3 billion cubic meters, the Xinhua agencyreports.

The growth rates have increasedby 15.3 percent,in comparison with 2017.

China encourages effective and large-scale use of natural gas in industrial fuelproduction, power and transport sectors.

The countryaims to make the share of natural gas equal about 10 percent of all energy consumption by 2020, and 15 percent by 2030.
