"Dostoevsky Intercontinental" to participate in the film festival "Golden Tower"
"Dostoevsky Intercontinental" film by TV BRICS will be presented in Ingushetia at the "Golden Tower" film festival, which will be held from November 29 to December 4, 2021. In addition, "Unknown Stalingrad," a film co-produced by TV BRICS and Moja Media (South Africa), has been included in the documentaries competition program.
"This year, the dates of the festival fell on November. And since it is Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky's 200th anniversary on November 11, we were very pleased to include a documentary created by TV BRICS in the program of the "Golden Tower" international film festival, which prioritizes films that incorporate the codes and single matrices of global values. "Dostoevsky Intercontinental" dedicated to the influence of the Russian writer on world culture, philosophy, and art in general, illustrates the fact, as one of the heroes of the film says, that "Dostoevsky will always have many readers. "For my part, I would add, having watched the film directed by Ivan Zakharenko, that Dostoevsky will have many moviegoers as well," said Irina Izmailova, the compiler of the film program of the "Golden Tower" IFF.
"After watching the film, in which researchers and fans of the writer's work from different continents and countries - China, India, Brazil, South Africa, and Russia - talk about Dostoevsky’s legacy, I wanted not only to re-read his novels, but also, as a film historian, to count how many film adaptations of this author's novels were created in world cinema. I am sure that the film "Dostoevsky Intercontinental" will find a wide response from the audience," added Irina Izmailova.
