Duda and Ana Patricia beat the Canadians to win the Beach Volleyball World Championship
Brazilian athletes Duda and Ana Patricia won the World Beach Volleyball Championship, defeating their Canadian rivals in the final. This is reported by TV CULTURA, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
After a disappointing result at the Tokyo Olympics, where the top duo from that country stalled in the quarter-finals, Brazilian beach volleyball showed its strength again on Sunday 19 June. Duda and Ana Patricia duo defeated the Canadian duo of Bukovec/Brandie with the score of 2:0 and won the World Championship.
By demonstrating great skill, Duda and Ana showed that Brazil is still strong in this sport, and the Olympic cycle in Paris has started very well. The athletes won 2 sets with a score of 21:17 and 21:19.
Brazil return to the top of the world podium after seven years. In 2015, Agatha and Barbara became world champions in Holland.
Previously, Brazil had already secured a medal in the men's competition. Andre and George won the third-place match against the Americans Schalk and Brunner to take bronze.
