Ebrahim Raisi says Iran is ready to further develop economic relations with African countries

Tehran reports on the expansion of Iran-Africa ties

Tehran hosted the Second Iran-Africa International Summit this Friday in the presence of more than 30 African Union member states. This was reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

During the summit, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that the meeting was a symbol of the will of African countries and Iran to expand economic relations.

The President also mentioned the difference in the views of the given countries compared to the Western countries, he chimed that co-operation with Africa was emphasised by Imam Khomeini as well as the leader of the Islamic Revolution. Westerners want Africa for themselves, but we want Africa for ourselves.

In addition, the president said that despite threats and sanctions, Iran has made good progress and can be called an advanced and technological country. The importance of the Islamic Republic's progress and achievements in the field of innovative technologies was particularly emphasised.

The source reports that the summit revealed that 10,000 companies are operating in Iran and the country's exports have now reached two billion dollars.

According to President Raisi, in the fields of agriculture, industry, medicine, and treatment, Iran has good products that can be exported to Africa.

The Islamic Republic can build an oil refinery and a power plant, and we can cooperate with African countries in this field,” he said.
