The importance of maintaining the urban landscape of new cities was emphasised
Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Sherif El-Sherbiny announced a new policy allowing citizens who comply with current building permits to apply for an increase in the building ratios for penthouses in new cities.
The minister stressed that the new policy aims to support compliance with building regulations, noting that applications to increase the building ratio for penthouses will be accepted from 1 December 2024. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
El-Sherbiny also highlighted the importance of the reconciliation law, stressing its role in creating a more civilised and sustainable urban landscape, especially in new cities. He said that the law aims to legalise construction violations and raise funds for ongoing development projects.
The meeting also discussed common construction violations in the new towns and how to address them while maintaining the integrity of infrastructure and adhering to the reconciliation law and its norms.
