Egypt's Prime Minister stresses the importance of the Export Reimbursement Programme for the country's economic growth

The programme plays an important role in achieving the government's goal of doubling exports in priority sectors

Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting to review the implementation of the programme.

The Prime Minister said the programme plays an important role in achieving the government's goal of doubling exports in priority sectors, which will open new opportunities for Egyptian companies in regional and global markets. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

The meeting reviewed the operation of the Export Reimbursement Programme from 1 July 2023 to 29 February 2024, and discussed the details of the new phase of the programme, which started on 1 March 2024 and will run until 30 June 2025.

Key parameters for the implementation of the programme were discussed, including priority support for high value-added products and budget allocation for each export sector. The issue of a phased increase in the share of local content in the production of companies was also raised, which will be linked to the level of support they receive.

The meeting also sounded out progress on the automation of the Export Reimbursement Programme. The first phase of automation, launched on 15 August 2024, includes registration of exporting companies and electronic submission of support payment requests. Once approved, new programme ratios and regulations will be incorporated.
