Ethiopia and Brazil strengthen agricultural and food security cooperation

Officials discussed several initiatives aimed at fostering partnerships in agriculture, food security, and tackling climate change

Ethiopia and Brazil have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in agriculture and food security, aiming to enhance mutual development in these critical sectors. This is reported by Fana Media Corporation (FMC), a partner of TV BRICS.

During a high-level meeting in Brasilia, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Brazil, Leulseged Tadese, and Brazil’s Minister of Social Development and Assistance, Family and Hunger Combat (MDS), Wellington Dias, explored avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Leulseged highlighted Ethiopia’s significant progress in transforming its agricultural sector. He also elaborated on Ethiopia’s successful school feeding initiative, which has improved education quality while benefiting millions of students.

In response, Minister Wellington Dias praised Ethiopia’s advancements in agriculture and its achievements in promoting food security. He underscored Brazil’s own success in reducing poverty and combating hunger, emphasising Brazil’s readiness to collaborate closely with Ethiopia to achieve shared goals.

Both officials expressed their commitment to fostering partnerships in agriculture, food sovereignty, and tackling climate change.
