Ethiopia prepares roadmap for its candidature to host Africa Cup of Nations football tournament

As part of the ongoing preparations, Ethiopia's Minister of Culture and Sports, Kejela Merdasa clarified that they are working to finalise the sports facility, the football stadium. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

He also said that the construction works at Bahir Dar Stadium and other sites are progressing in accordance with the standards of the African Football Confederation (CAF) and the government's intention to support federations and sports associations to be self-sufficient by generating their own income.

The Minister also announced plans to build a cultural centre that will serve as a platform to showcase Ethiopia's diverse stories and cultures, encouraging a deeper understanding of the rich national heritage.

He confirmed the finalisation of the project preparation and incorporation of knowledge from other countries to create a unique and relevant facility in the sector.
