Ethiopia to boost e-commerce by establishing New Digital Talent Academy
Ethiopia’s commitment to expanding its e-commerce sector has received a significant boost with the establishment of Africa’s first global digital talent academy in partnership with the Digital Transformation Ethiopia Association (DTEA).
The academy will serve as a training centre to develop local talent, empowering Ethiopia’s journey towards digitisation and strengthening its e-commerce sector. This is reported by ENA, a partner of TV BRICS.
By building a talent base proficient in digital commerce, Ethiopia aims to expand its economy and engage with international markets, including major partners like China.
Experts believe that the new policies and digital tools will accelerate foreign trade, enabling Ethiopian exporters, such as coffee producers, to tap into new markets with value-added products through online platforms.
The academy’s launch is part of its mission to facilitate Ethiopia’s entry into the global digital economy, allowing businesses and individual entrepreneurs to access multinational trade opportunities. With e-commerce rapidly reshaping global business dynamics, Ethiopia is positioning itself as a rising digital economy in Africa.
