Experts from around the world to discuss ways to support SDGs in India
Next week, India will host the Global Co-operative Conference for the first time in 130 years to contribute to the advancement of (SDGs)
The event, organised by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), will be held from 25 to 30 November and will facilitate discussion on alternatives in the work of organisations to create a collective, peaceful and prosperous future under the theme "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All".
The biennial event will officially launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025 in the presence of international dignitaries. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS
In addition, sessions will highlight the essence of cooperatives as people-centred institutions.
ICA emphasised that the event will focus on cooperative enterprises and institutions as key partners in accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To this end, sessions will be held to discuss policies and business ecosystems that promote the development of these institutions, the reaffirmation of cooperative identity, youth and women-centred, and a just, equitable and sustainable future.
The event will also include meetings and workshops of ICA sectors, regions and committees, a seminar of the International Cooperative Health Organisation, the 17th ICA Africa – Regional Assembly, and a film festival.
