First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergey Lukashevich: Our main goal is to join BRICS

The BRICS countries can play a special role in building a prosperous world. This was stated by First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergey Lukashevich at a briefing on the topic "Promotion of the Republic of Belarus in BRICS Source". This is reported by the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

The country has repeatedly stated its desire to join the group.

In his opinion, Belarus can contribute to the implementation of such large-scale international projects as the North-South transport corridor and the One Belt, One Road initiative.

"We support the BRICS intentions to conduct a broad dialogue with interested countries in order to create a field for intensifying cooperation in many areas, from agriculture to ensure global food security to high-tech developments... Belarus has a lot to offer BRICS. We are ready to contribute to the common cause of sustainable development. We are glad to share our experience in implementing international projects related to youth policy, healthcare, environmental protection and disaster management, adhering to the BRICS Economic Partnership Strategy – 2025," Lukashevich said.

He noted that the main goal is to join BRICS and Belarus will work hard to achieve this goal.
